Somehow this issue got reintroduced with Chrome 39.

However, I found that adding height: 0px; instead of height: 100%; solves the issue.

After changing the code to …

… the link's topic name no longer appears in the authoring interface — the string “Link” is always displayed instead.

    How can this be fixed?

    Hi Janice,

Thank you! Setting @locktitle to “no” solves this issue. This is exactly how titles should be rendered by default when @locktitle is not set.

However, please note that setting @locktitle to “no” solves this issue, but only temporarily; XMetaL automatically truncates and re-adds the ellipsis to long topic titles when the map is re-opened or refreshed. This is still a bug.

    Hi Derek,

Thanks for logging this as a defect. Looking forward to the fix in the next release (or patch file(s), ideally, for time's sake).

    Hi Derek,

The attached sample contains 3 files: a ditamap, a topic, and a reusable component. If you generate WebHelp from the ditamap, you'll notice that the ToC contains one topic called “The Movie”. However, you'll also notice that the topic's actual title is “The Spiderman Movie”. The conref'ed “Spiderman” keyword is omitted from the ToC.

    Hi, Derek.

The build doesn't work with JRE compliance levels 1.7 and 1.6, but it does work with level 1.5. Thanks!

    Hi Derek,

Thank you for this reply; it was very helpful.

I found that after a fresh installation of XMetaL 7.0, the “Find in Files” feature only searches .xml, .sgm., and .sgml files when looking into folders. To let it also search .dita and .ditamap files, the following steps must be executed at least once:

    1. Display the Macros toolbar.
    2. Run the macro named “XMetaL Configuration: About Services”.
    3. In the dialog that appears, select Multiple-File Operation Service.
    4. On the right side of the same dialog, click Extended Info.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Click Done.
    7. Restart XMetaL 7.0.

Now XMetaL will also search .dita and .ditamap files when looking into folders.

    Thanks, Derek! Your solution works.

I modified your code snippet to automatically include all files in the DITA_OTresource folder:

    *.*” casesensitive=”no”>

Do the or elements have attributes to include subfolders as well? This would allow files to be organized in subfolders, which would automatically be included in WebHelp output.

Further to Derek's response, I would like to add that the copyright symbol might prevent the footer from being displayed in some browsers.

    A safer variation would be:

      © 2012 XYZ Company

Also, where should the xyzcompanylogo.jpg file be placed for it to be automatically included in the WebHelp output?

    Hi Derek,

I found that if you place .gif files in the DITA_OT/resource folder, they are automatically included in the WebHelp output. However, .png and .jpg files are not included. So it seems that if you want to use custom image bullets in XMetaL (or the DITA Open Toolkit), you must use the .gif format.

If we did want to use .png of .jpg files though, is there any way to have them automatically published in WebHelp output?

I believe I found a solution/hack, which uses the column widths entered in XMetaL along with specified units (px, pt, in, cm, etc.).

In the dita2htmlImpl.xsl file of the DITA Open Toolkit, replace this line:

    %

    with this line:

    Hi Derek,

Thanks for the quick reply. I will log the defect with the DITA Open Toolkit project, as you suggested. I suspect the defect resides in the dita2htmlImpl.xsl file, where one of the templates is trying to access the colwidth attribute in the element instead of the element.
