November 29, 2017 at 9:04 pmMicrosoft does not allow embedding of a 32-bit DLL inside a 64-bit process. If you wish to embed an ActiveX control inside an XFT in the 64-bit version of XMetaL Author Essential (or Enterprise) you will need to obtain a 64-bit version of the control.
Unfortunately, there are a number of popular ActiveX controls that Microsoft has not ported to the 64-bit version of Windows (their MSCAL control is one of these). You may wish to contact them about this so they hear from more end users.
In the meantime you will either need to obtain a 64-bit ActiveX control to embed inside the XFT or run the 32-bit version of XMetaL Author Essential (which will run just fine on 64-bit versions of Windows as Windows will then run it under its “WOW64” system).
