XMetaL Author Essential 13.0 Release Notes
For more general authoring tasks, this version of XMetaL Author has two new “Quick” assistants, one for accessing spellchecking-thesaurus functions inline and another for inserting from your configured list of favorite symbols and special characters. Other improvements were made to auto-suggest attribute and table cell values. The Schematron feature was completely reworked and supports the ISO Schematron standard using a minimum conformance level XSLT 2.0 processor, Saxon-CE 1.1. As with every major release, we have addressed various customer-reported bug fixes. For a complete list of new features, see New features.
Auto-suggest attribute value and Auto-suggest table cell value
The Attribute Inspector panel will, whenever possible, automatically suggest an attribute value if the same attribute already has a value assigned elsewhere in the document on the same element type. This can greatly speed up the repetitive task of assigning the same attribute the same value throughout the document.
Similar to the auto-suggest attribute value feature, the auto-suggest table cell feature will, whenever possible, automatically suggest a text value for a table cell. This can greatly speed up the repetitive task of filling in table column values throughout the document.
Quick Symbols and Quick WritingTools
Similar to the Quick Markup feature, you can now trigger the insertion of a symbol or spellchecking and thesaurus actions at the current cursor location with a simple keystroke gesture. For Quick Symbols, type Ctrl+Shift+S to activate the tool. For Quick WritingTools, type Ctrl+. (period) to activate it. Pressing <Esc> will dismiss the tool.
