XMetal 8.0 trial removes XMetaL 7.0 installation …

Hi,

why does the XMetaL 8.0 trial completely remove my licnsed 7.0 installation without warning? Even my settings are not saved.

Can these versions be installed on the same machine? I need to test if 8.0 solves some issues we have with 7.0 but I don't want my 7.0 installation be removed ….

Hi Wim,

Unfortunately it is not possible to have two copies of XMetaL installed on the same machine.

If it will help you to work out what issues may have been fixed, there is a list of bug fixes in the 8.0 readme file which is available in the following forum thread:

can I just re-install my 7.0 version without issues?

You should be able to uninstall 8 and reinstall 7, but I'm not sure if the previous XMetaL 7 settings will be available. (Is that what you are hoping?)
