October 13, 2020 at 5:46 pmHi,
Please provide more details.
How do you trigger printing?
Are you print dita document?
Do you use any printing/formatting plugins? e.g. Antenna House.
Did this happen before?
Did this happen to other users?
Could you attach a screenshot of the error message? Thanks,
Ning Hu

October 14, 2020 at 4:54 amIt happens immediately on starting XMetaL. No one needs to attempt printing to get the message. I’m not sure how to attach a screenshot.

October 14, 2020 at 9:44 amAre you using XMetaL Author Enterprise Edition (XMEE)?
Do you have any integrations installed with XMEE?
Have you tried reinstalling XMEE?Regards,
Ning Hu

October 14, 2020 at 9:51 amThe problem was reported to me by someone else, but I think I can answer this. It’s with Author Essential. I’m not sure what you mean by integrations, but this is happening with the program out of the box. Yes, they’ve reinstalled repeatedly.

October 14, 2020 at 10:57 amIt seems this message is from Author Enterprise. The following is what I found.
XMEE production versions require a license file for printing using RenderX related plugins.
Every time when XMetaL launches, it writes file
C:\ProgramData\SoftQuad\XMetaL\Shared\renderx\license.xml
When XMetaL terminates – it removes this file.
In case if action cannot be completed – this message appears.First: reboot system
Second: try manually deleting this file if it exists.
Third: check if access to the folder above is not locked by system or antivirus.RenderX is not shipped with Author Essential.
