XMetal 10: Refresh References and Saving Files

We recently upgraded from XMetal 8 to 10 and we've found a rather annoying change.

When we have the “Refresh references when opening topics” check box selected, we are prompted to save files when we close them, even if we have not changed any content. This did not happen in XMetal 8.

We've compared the XML in an editor and do not see any changes to the files.

Is this a deliberate change (I hope not!) and if not, does anyone know of a workaround?

This was not deliberate. A defect report has been filed and the development team will look into the issue.
