XMetal 10 and Windows 10
October 13, 2016 at 11:18 amParticipants 0Replies 1Last Activity 6 years, 3 months agoWe are running both the Enterprise and Essentials versions of XMetal on Windows7 mostly, but are transitioning new computers to Windows10. I see that Windows10 is not included in the system requirements in the install-readme. We are seeing some cases where XMetal crashes approximately 9/10 times. Are there known issues with XMetal 10 and Windows 10?
We have tried all the troubleshooting we have done in the past (we're run XMetal for many years) like Java settings, reinstalling Java, unchecking the “Restore last open documents”, setting the “Recently use file list” to 0, browser security and preferences, and reinstalling XMetal.

October 14, 2016 at 6:41 pmI can't answer your question directly, but you are correct: version 10 was never tested on Windows 10 (it was not available at the time of release). Version 11 was the first version to be tested on Windows 10.
If you must stick with version 10 (this is usually because some 3rd party software requires a specific version of XMetaL) you might try running it using Windows “compatibility mode” and set that to Windows 7 or 8.
