XMAX Control 10.0 and use of Tab keyNovember 9, 2015 at 5:24 pmParticipants 1Replies 2Last Activity 7 years, 2 months ago
We are wanting the keyboard tab key behavior within the XMAX 10.0 control itself to behave like XMetaL 5.5, especially within tables. The tab key within the XMAX 10.0 control is instead just tabbing to the next control on the form. Wondering if there is a property within the XMAX 10.0 control similar to a vb.net textbox control property AcceptsTab = True.
We have a vb.net mdi form with its KeyPreview = True that allows us to capture other keys like the backspace and delete keys. This mdi then hosts other forms, which in turn each contain their own XMAX 10.0 control.
Thanks.Derek Read November 9, 2015 at 10:07 pm

The main application (whatever is hosting an ActiveX control) gets first crack at any keystrokes. It can choose to handle them and pass them along to any controls it may be hosting. It can also specifically choose not to pass them on, or it might not handle a particular keystroke and “eat it”.Derek Read November 9, 2015 at 11:15 pm

If you are not sure what is going on you can actively capture that keystroke in your application then call the XMAX method Selection.TypeTab() to tell XMAX to act as if the user has typed that key.
