Screen position jumps when inserting new element

When I insert a new element (using either the Insert Element panel or the Insert menu), and the text is long enough to require vertical scroll bars, the new element is inserted in the correct location in the document, however the view of the topic changes (it automatically scrolls the page) and the new element shows up at the bottom of the reading pane. This does not happen in plain text view. It is very frustrating because I have to re-orient my eyes every time I add a new element. Is this a known issue, and is there a fix? It is not happening on my colleagues machines.

Which version of XMetaL are you using?
Could you please attach some screenshots to show the problem?

Did this problem happen in the previous version of XMetaL?

Are you editing DITA document?

We just went through a CMS upgrade, and as part of it we upgraded from XMetaL 9 to XMetaL 14. This did not happen before. Yes, we are working in DITA. See screenshot.

Hi Ning – the range.js file to provided (that we placed here {XMetaL}\XMDK\x\xom) solved the problem. Thank you!
