Is it possible to create a read-only element in XMAX? Either by some property or setting it in the schema.

The situation is I have a element that will be automatically generated and will act as a unique identifier, so I do not want the user to be able to edit this tag, although it must be visible.

    Thanks

    Never mind.

I have found the Selection.ReadOnly and Selection.ReadOnlyContainer properties in the Help file.

    Thanks

    Related APIs include:

    Selection/Range.NonRemovableContainer
    Selection/Range.WritePermittedContainer

All of these combined can usually (always?) give developers enough control over the document to stop the user from doing “bad” things when you feel it is necessary.
