Opening File from (Spelling Check) Results Window into Tags On View?
April 1, 2015 at 7:59 pmParticipants 0Replies 1Last Activity 7 years, 10 months agoAfter running Cross-map Spell Check, when I double-click a result in the Results window, the topic file opens into Normal View. Is there a way to change the default behavior to open the topic file into Tags On View instead?
Thanks
R Palmer

April 1, 2015 at 10:49 pmThe Spell Check in Files feature is built on the framework of the Results window (which many different features now use). The first version of the Results window respected the setting for “Open new documents in”, which is in Tools > Options on the View tab: Plain Text View, Tags On View, or Normal View.
Unfortunately, that was causing problems when set to “Plain Text View” (the feature cannot be made to work with Plain Text view for various reasons). The fix for that was to force all documents opened from the Results window to open in Normal view. I suspect the requirements for the fix either must have been unclear or someone ran into time constraints.
I'll see what can be done. We've just released version 10, so any fix would be based on that version. I suspect the best that could be done would be to respect the “Open new documents in” setting if it is set to either Normal View or Tags On View, and to force it into one of those two views if the setting is Plain Text View (traditionally we've always defaulted to Normal view, even though I think many people switch to Tags On view).
