On Document open the images should be hidden inline
April 22, 2020 at 1:35 pmParticipants 10Replies 11Last Activity 2 years, 10 months agoI'm using XMetal Author enterprise 12 edition and I'm a DITA Developer from my company.
I needed help with a macro when a document is opened in XMetal, on document open the images should be hidden inline. If user needs to view the images, then user should press a shortcut key to enable the show inline images rather than selecting the option from View –> show inline images. As this is critical issue with usage. Immediate attention and response is appreciated.
Thanks,

April 23, 2020 at 5:23 pmHi,
Inline image toggling is a document-wise operation. If you hide the image initially and insert an image, that image will not show. Will this be a problem?
Thanks,
Ning

April 23, 2020 at 6:38 pmYes that is correct.. My posting was clear on original post. when document is opened images should be hidden inline. If user needs to view the images, then user should press a shortcut key to enable the show inline images rather than selecting the option from View –> show inline images.
This will not be a problem
Thanks,

April 23, 2020 at 6:43 pmThis will not be a problem since, when the document is opened the document have n number images. it takes so much of time to load all the images in the doc so once the doc is opened the default view of image should be hidden. But when the user needs to view or edit the image then they can press the short cut key to show images inline.
@Ning, Please revert back ASAP.
Thanks,

2. Put .mcr file to .AuthorStartUp
3. Shortcut Key – Ctrl+Shift+M – you can change it in .mcr file if it conflicts.Regards,

April 24, 2020 at 7:53 amThanks Much Ning, Life saver. The macro absolutely works..
Can we have a option to view the image with alt tag visible with show inline images option enabled? Currently it is not visible.

April 24, 2020 at 9:17 pmShowing
tag with displayed image requires changing XMetaL binary.
I can log this as a feature request.Ning

April 27, 2020 at 6:25 pmHi Ning,
Thanks for the response, Is there any way currently to make changes in XMetal Author 12 to make the alt tag visible in tags on view?
Is there any customization available or that can be made now to make it to work.
Thanks,
