New InDesign output
May 10, 2012 at 2:10 pmParticipants 0Replies 1Last Activity 10 years, 8 months agoAccording to the XMetaL User Guide
INDESIGN (experimental) Produces a single production-quality Adobe InDesign file. When I tried this, XMetaL gave me one InCopy (incx) file per DITA topic. I looked at the results with our InDesign expert, but she said there was certainly no “single production quality Adobe InDesign file” in the output.
Is this a documentation error, or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,

May 10, 2012 at 5:10 pmAll of the new “deliverables” in XMetaL Author Enterprise 7.0 marked with “(experimental)” are part of the “DITA 4 Publishers” plug-in documented here:
http://dita4publishers.sourceforge.net/d4p-user-guide/index.htmlThat will be your best source for what they are supposed to produce. What our documentation people should probably have done was to list them as such (that they are part of the DITA 4 Publishers plug-in) and then provide that same link.
What our developers and QA did was to get all of the outputs for that plug-in to produce something. However, thorough testing on what is actually produced was not done (hence the label “experimental”).
The main project page for “d4p” is here: http://dita4publishers.sourceforge.net/
