Merge cells in table based on cell selection: Xmetal Author enterprise 12

As of now, XMetal Author supports merging cells on a table with cell up, cell down, cellleft and cell right. Is there a macro or customization available to merge cells based on cell selection?

Forexample: I select some number of cells and click merge or use shortcut key to merge only the selected cells. The operation of selected cells should merge.

Please let me know if there are any customization’s available or guide me with the macro for making the customization.

There is no such functionality or macro build-in with XMetaL.
