Improving copy/paste function from Office(Word/Excel) table cell.

This is inquiry for improving copy/paste function from Office table cell.
As far as I know XMetaL supports table cell copy/paste function from Microsoft Office products. Usually it works well. However if the copy source cells contain spanning, it does not exactly converted. Please refer to below:[Source Excel worksheet]

You can see that oXygen exactly converts @morerows/@namest/@nameend attributes. But it is not supported in XMetaL at all.
In legacy data to XML migration this function is very important.
Is it feasible to improve this copy/paste function in XMetaL?Regards,
