If we can apply bold/Italic style for chinese PDF output
January 2, 2012 at 3:57 amParticipants 0Replies 1Last Activity 11 years, 1 month agoI am new for Metal and Dita, now I am testing to localize English files defined by xMetal into Chinese RPC, chinese Taiwan and Japanese. Finally I get the translated dita files published into Chinese PDF file with most characters display. But the words in title can't display as they are Italic style in English. I am not sure if there is any way to Italic or bold Chinese characters as English? I guess add Chinese fonts with bold.italic tyle in xep.xml may help, but we know Chinese font usually has not real bold/italic style. If we can vitual bold/italic Chinese characters in xMetal publishing like MSWord file?
Thanks!

January 2, 2012 at 9:15 amThe RenderX XEP documentation states that it does support “Algorithmic Slanting”. So, you have two options (to specify an actual italic font face) or to use this feature. Search for “Algorithmic Slanting” on the following page for the settings needed in the xep.xml file:
http://www.renderx.com/reference.htmlI suspect there must be a similar feature for bold.
