HTML Help Workshop
November 18, 2011 at 4:46 pmParticipants 0Replies 1Last Activity 11 years, 2 months agoHi everyone,
I am a new user to XMetal and I was trying to create a HTML Help file from the DITA Map. I already generated a PDF and it worked just fine but, when I tried to create a CHM file I got an error message that said: “Output could not be generated because the application 'HTML Help Workshop' was not found”.
Is this something extra that I need to install on my computer? How do I create CHM files?
Thank you for your help!

November 18, 2011 at 9:31 pmYes, you need to install this tool separately. You can obtain it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=21138If that does not take you directly to the Microsoft download page for this tool, search for “html help workshop” at http://www.microsoft.com
No additional configuration is necessary beyond installation as it registers itself with Windows in such a way that allows XMetaL to automatically find it.
