I think we need a lot more detail to help you with this.
Which type of document are you working with (DTD or Schema)? If it is not DITA can you provide a copy of the DTD or Schema together with an XML instance? That will give us some context and a better understanding (hopefully) of what “table”means in this case, as well as a better understanding of your solution in general.
Also, when you say “site” what does that mean?
