    Version 6.0

If I open a ditamap in XML view and drag a topic from the 'desktop'pane' I get the topicref, but it is labelled 'Untitled topic' and I need to double-click on the topicref to resolve it.

Worse: when I select multiple files in the desktop pane and drag them into my ditamap in XML view, I get a nested set of topic refs!! (all labelled 'untitled') – instead of the list of resolved topicrefs.

What is the simplest way to just insert into a ditamap a list of topicrefs to a number of files that are all in the same folder?

Dropping a DITA file into a map will create the correct topicref but does not run the “Refresh All References” function. That is why it initially appears as “untitled topic”. Selecting “Refresh All References” (F11 or on the Edit menu) will refresh all the titles for topicref elements in the map (in addition to checking their links).

We don't currently have any code in place to properly deal with dragging a dropping multiple files into a map to create topicrefs and that is why you see the nesting behavior.

I have created a prototype feature for inserting multiple topicref elements that may help.

Please let me know if this is close to what you need (read the warnings, assumptions, limitations, etc).

    Hi

Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this. It's just what I need. Thank you!
