How can I insert topics after the index in a bookmap? PDF output.
November 26, 2010 at 5:06 amParticipants 1Replies 2Last Activity 12 years, 4 months agoDoes the index have to be the last thing in the backmatter? I am trying to insert a topic *after* the index but it always comes out before the index in the PDF output. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
This is for XMetal Author 6.0. Output to XMetal Enhanced PDF using RenderXEP. No customizations have been applied.
This is an excerpt from my test map.

November 26, 2010 at 6:15 amThe way things were designed this order is fixed. So, it doesn't matter how you design your map in this case, the index will always come after all topics. Changing this would require mods to be made to the XSLT in the DITA OT.
I don't have access to a good grep tool right now (and I should actually be relaxing as it is 10pm here). Once I can do a little bit of searching on the DITA OT I think I can probably find the right spot. I do recall seeing this at some point.

November 27, 2010 at 1:00 amThis is a known issue with the DITA OT for PDF2 (Book via RenderX in our list of “deliverables”). Since the code used for the “XMetaL Enhanced PDF via RenderX XEP” deliverable essentially duplicated that code the behavior is inherited.
There is a bug logged against the DITA OT for the issue, along with a discussion of how one person has attempted to address this for the position of their TOC and some notes about how people could do something similar for the Index position:
