Horizontal scrolling
January 11, 2013 at 6:24 pmParticipants 2Replies 3Last Activity 10 years agoIs there any fix to make horizontal scrolling in XMetaL actually functional? In almost all views (particularly text view) the horizontal scrolling and scrollbar is utterly inaccurate and way larger than the actual content width. If you try to drag the scrollbar, or select text rightward off screen, you end up in the in nomads land of blank screen. It seems Xmetal is always grossly overestimating the content width.

January 11, 2013 at 7:27 pmThere is no way for you to alter this behaviour.
It is a known issue but not considered something that affects people's ability to create content. So, it is currently considered a “nice to fix” issue, and those usually don't get looked at until all the “must fix” issues for any particular release are done (and we often have enough of those to fill our schedule). Is this causing any real problems for you?

January 21, 2013 at 8:42 pmI guess its not a big issue. It gives you a false sense of more content though.
The biggest issue is in code view where it is nearly impossible to horizontally scroll.Derek Read January 21, 2013 at 11:03 pm

January 21, 2013 at 11:03 pmIf you are using 6.0, your complaint about Plain Text view might have gone away in 7.0.
There was a limit on the maximum length of a line that the software rendered in Plain Text view and that was about 4077 characters. That limit has been increased to 1 million. The scroll bars still “lie” to you though.
