Generating accessible HTML-based output
May 10, 2012 at 3:32 pmParticipants 0Replies 1Last Activity 10 years, 8 months agoWe recently found out that we are going to have to generate HTML-based output that meets the standards for section 508 and WCAG accessibility.
We've already noticed some items that we are not able to configure using DITA markup:
– summary attribute for tables
– title attribute for tables
– headers attribute for table cellsAre there any resources available for using XMetal to generate accessible HTML-based output? An initial search hasn't turned up much.
Thanks,
Janice

May 10, 2012 at 11:45 pmXMetaL Author Enterprise uses the DITA Open Toolkit so adding “dita ot” to your searches may help. You may also wish to search here (or ask if anyone else has figured out a solution):
