Could not access XMAX control from a clientSeptember 7, 2009 at 1:14 pmParticipants 0Replies 1Last Activity 13 years, 3 months ago
I installed XMAX, XMAX Developer 5.5, XMAX Author 5.5 in the same client. As part of our trials, I successfully embedded the XMAX control to the .NET application and hosted this application in the system where XMAX & XMAX Developer were installed. By accessing this application from the same client by giving the URL, I am able to view the XMAX control in the page. The same does not work by accessing from a different system (where XMAX is not installed).
Could you let us know if there are any additional steps to be performed (like generating the CAB file for XMAX etc)?
Does installing XMAX in the server mean “XMAX has been successfully deployed.”?Derek Read September 10, 2009 at 6:19 pm

Please see the following topics in the XMetaL Developer Programmers Guide:
- Developing a HTML-based container application for XMetaL® XMAX™
- Download the XMetaL® XMAX™ CAB file
If you are using the concurrent licensing model you may also wish to read this topic:
- Configure your HTML application to use the FLEXlm license server
If you need more information about how Internet Explorer deals with the download and management of ActiveX controls please check the Microsoft MSDN site as there should be a lot of information there. This is really an Internet Explorer feature, though we do provide the CAB file required to support this feature.
