Copying templates when Upgrading

Just my 2 cents:
It would be really nice to be able to maintain customized templates when upgrading to a new version.
Right now I have to make sure my templates are backed up outside of the program files in order to be able to copy/paste them back into the the new installation folder. This means that I have to remember to apply any changes to both the Template folder in Program Files, and to my backup.
It should be fairly easy to write a script (in the installation wizard) that copies the Template folder from the previous version and installs it in the new version.
