Concurrent license server: How to not display "Trial license has expired"
April 29, 2009 at 2:42 pmParticipants 1Replies 2Last Activity 13 years, 9 months agoHi,
We are in the process of switching over to the Xmax Concurrent License Server and we have a problem that there does not seem to be a way to hide the splash screen if there is no concurrent license available for that client.
For example if the license server is not started we would like to redirect the user to our custom error page instead of the customer getting a splash window informing them that they can buy a license on Just Systems website. But it does not seem to be possible to test for this or to block it when the LoadFromString method is called.
Is there a way to contact the license server through Xmax that is not in the documentation? As far as I can see setting the LicenseID parameter is all that exists in the API.
Regards,

April 29, 2009 at 7:47 pmWhat you have described is standard behaviour that cannot be overridden with an API or other simple means.
What you are asking for might be possible to do, perhaps as part of some custom work. You should follow this up through the JustSystems (XMetaL) partner channels if you are interested in that. We have had discussions in the past with various partners to provide them with their own custom versions of XMAX (rebranded, etc).
