APPCRASH with xmetal60.exe (v184.108.40.206)July 25, 2011 at 8:34 amParticipants 2Replies 3Last Activity 11 years, 2 months ago
I searched for 'Application Error' and APPCRASH, but it looks like nobody else seems to have problems as we have. We host XMetaL 6.0 in a Terminalserver for our editorial departement, and got last week serious call because XMetaL is crashing a couple of times a day.
In the Application Event Log we see, e.g.
Log Name: Application
Source: Application Error
Date: 22.07.2011 09:38:08
Event ID: 1000
Task Category: (100)
Faulting application name: xmetal60.exe, version: 220.127.116.11, time stamp: 0x4bb3062f
Faulting module name: xmetal60.exe, version: 18.104.22.168, time stamp: 0x4bb3062f

How can we troubleshoot and solve this problem?gcrews July 25, 2011 at 3:49 pm

There a number of issues that may be causing the crashes.
Try a search for just crash, here are some threads:
We are still having crash/hang issues on output generation. We have learned to just save often and expect the output generation to not work until a reboot when it starts acting up.Derek Read July 25, 2011 at 5:41 pm

All the crash related issues that the XMetaL Support and development teams were able to reproduce with 6.0.1.030 were addressed for our 6.0.2.070 release (XMetaL Author Enterprise 6.0 SP1).
I would suggest you try that version.
