The creation of an “adapter” is normally done by the creators of a particular content management system (though we maintain and sell one ourselves for use with Documentum). It is not simply a matter of adding a configuration file and it is not something we expect clients to be able to perform, so the documentation for “XMetaL Connector” is typically only provided to partners.

I don't believe anyone has made an adapter for XMetaL Author and Subversion (SVN). However, you may be happy with the following solution:
