Hi,
This is inquiry for improving copy/paste function from Office table cell.
As far as I know XMetaL supports table cell copy/paste function from Microsoft Office products. Usually it works well. However if the copy source cells contain spanning, it does not exactly converted. Please refer to below:

[Source Excel worksheet]

[Paste result in XMetaL 8]
Code:

<tgroup cols="6">
<colspec colnum="1" colname="col1" colwidth="*"/>
<colspec colnum="2" colname="col2" colwidth="*"/>
<colspec colnum="3" colname="col3" colwidth="*"/>
<colspec colnum="4" colname="col4" colwidth="*"/>
<colspec colnum="5" colname="col5" colwidth="*"/>
<colspec colnum="6" colname="col6" colwidth="*"/>

<row>

Topic Owner

Modify?

</row>
<row>

New

Major

Minor

None

Unused

</row>
<row>

</row>

</tgroup>

[Paste result in oXygen 15.1]
Code:

   <tgroup cols="6">
    <colspec colnum="1" colname="col1"/>
    <colspec colnum="2" colname="col2"/>
    <colspec colnum="3" colname="col3"/>
    <colspec colnum="4" colname="col4"/>
    <colspec colnum="5" colname="col5"/>
    <colspec colnum="6" colname="col6"/>

     <row>

Topic Owner

Modify?

     </row>
     <row>

New

Major

Minor

None

Unused

     </row>
     <row>

     </row>

   </tgroup>

You can see that oXygen exactly converts @morerows/@namest/@nameend attributes. But it is not supported in XMetaL at all.
In legacy data to XML migration this function is very important.
Is it feasible to improve this copy/paste function in XMetaL?

Regards,
