We recently found out that we are going to have to generate HTML-based output that meets the standards for section 508 and WCAG accessibility.

We've already noticed some items that we are not able to configure using DITA markup:

- summary attribute for tables
- title attribute for tables
- headers attribute for table cells

Are there any resources available for using XMetal to generate accessible HTML-based output? An initial search hasn't turned up much.

Thanks,

Janice

XMetaL Author Enterprise uses the DITA Open Toolkit so adding "dita ot" to your searches may help. You may also wish to search here (or ask if anyone else has figured out a solution):

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/xmetal-dita/ (this one seems to be heavy attack by spammers at the moment)

Here's one thread that might get you on the right track: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/dita-users/message/8675
