We currently use XMetal Enterprise DITA version 5.1 with the OT 1.4.1 beta patch on Windows XP. Things seem to be running smoothly for us at the moment.

My question is: Should we update to version 5.5?

I would like know if anyone has had experience with this.

Thanks,
Don

Right now the answer must be a deafening silence, because we have not released v.5.5 yet!  It's due out quite imminently, and we'll be posting the readme here on the forum somewhere, which should help in making the decision when and whether to upgrade.

Ah, thanks for that... I just happened to go this page:
http://na.justsystems.com/content-support-downloads-updates#XMAE5.5
where it talks about 5.5, so I thought I had missed something.

Will the soon-to-be release fully support Documenum 6.5? Just got my friendly reminder from EMC today EOL for 5.3.

DonM:  Hmm, yes, our website got just a teensy bit ahead of reality...but that just proves that the release truly is imminent, right?  :)

Mike:  That question is actually not about XMetaL Author 5.5, but about the XMetaL Connector adapter for Documentum, whose proper name is XMetaL Author for Documentum Webtop.  This gets released separately from XMetaL Author; we have a release currently scheduled in December that will support Documentum 6.5 (requires 6.5SP1) as well as still being able to work with Documentum 6.0 (plus appropriate SP and hotfixes).

http://na.justsystems.com/content-support-downloads has a link to a trial version of release 5.5. Does that mean that the software is ready to ship?
