Is it possible to display and edit Mathematical equations with XMetal.

Theses equations are expressed with MathML but can be converted to any other grammar.

Yes. Look into MathFlow 1.7 by DesignScience. This is a plug-in for XMetaL (and some other applications) to render XML coded math equations.

I even use XMetaL to write my business letters.

Design Science recently released version 1.8 of MathFlow, which is required if you are using XMetaL 5.1.
