WE have been seeing a problem where XMetal 5 installed on 64 bit OS is not 100% working. The issue is with the "Normal View" which I read requires css to renter the xml. TAG view and the browser view work fine. Is this a known issue when the XMetal related files go under "Program Files (x86) folder instead of "Program Files" as normally would happen with 32 bit OS? What is the precise location of the CSS responsible for rendering the xml in normal view? We are using DITA version and the xml in question is a specialized DITA Type.

This is difficult to answer as we have not officially completed testing on 64-bit versions of Windows and they are not yet officially supported (current support in our 5.5 release is for 32 bit versions of Windows XP and Vista).

Once that testing has been completed any such issues related to this (which in theory should be handled transparently to any particular application by Windows itself) will need to be addressed.

Are there any updates on this post? We are also planning to move to 64 bit system and would like to assess the compatibility of XMetaL with 64 bit. It is important for us because we are using Citrix and at present 32 bit OS supports only 20 Citrix users maximum also some limitation with memory. We are having more user base and it is keep on expanding. Appreciate your reply.

XMetaL Author Enterprise 7.0 is being tested on Windows 7 64-bit and is currently planned for release at the end of summer.

(this second part is of more interest to "normal" users, not clients running the product for multiple users on Citrix...)If you need to run XMetaL Author Enterprise 6.0 or XMetaL Author Essential 6.0 (or an older version) on Windows 7 64-bit and are experiencing any issues you can install and use the freely-available "Windows XP Mode" from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
