Quickly selecting all text within an element (without selecting element tag)

At times I need to replace all the text within an element. It would be handy if I could quickly select all the text within an element without selecting the element tag. Is there an easy way to do this besides dragging the mouse around to select all the text? I was hoping a triple-click might do the trick, but it appears not. Is something similar possible?

There is nothing exposed by default in the user interface, but we have an API that can be used to create this feature.
